3 Tarva Ikea drawers in one convenient Shaker
Materials: TARVA chest x 3
this is what I did:
- used a chop saw to cut down the meager 2 × 2 legs (before convenient assembly) and replace them with cutting 4 × 4-4 "high.
- Filled with the convenient handle holds a load of wood and sanded to essentially eliminate the existing hole of the drawer fronts
- firring opportunity to frame strips to the front of each drawer to make it look like "shaker". I have installed the using wood glue and a nail gun
- Used Jan. 1 × 2 piece of pine dressers to connect the front and rear, fastened with a nail gun.
- Build a top that went the length dressers 3 that made them a unit.
- filled all nail holes with wood filler and sanded lightly with 0-grit.
- Used to color dark walnut MINWAX but all the drawers and sealed with a satin polyurethane.
- Makes a cardboard template (leather drawer pulls tutorial to come) and drilled holes for the new leather pulls.
- Painted facades of all white drawers.
- leather pulls installed with carriage bolts and wing nuts
- unpacked my clothes and put them in my new fancy pants train!
