Bed Malm captain for small apartment in New York

description: I have a tiny room (about 6Ft by 7ft) in a 3 bedroom apartment in New York and I was looking for a way to make the most of the space. As a student, I still wanted an office space to do my job, it was a must. When I arrived in the space that I was using the Tromso loft with office in fixing and that was about it. Being a tall person but (I'm 6'1 ") I quickly found that a double loft bed was just not going to work in the long term.

When I came across and Ikeahackers and saw some Malm hacks for storage beds, it got me thinking about how I could make my own custom built for space, and with the help of my father and uncle here is the result! I could not be happier with how it turned out!

the basic structure of the bed is an L-shaped table that was built to surround the chest, which is self-supporting. Since the dresser is only 63 "wide by about 19" deep, the necessary support structure to compensate for the rest of the bed, which is generally 74 "wide by 54" deep. It is composed of 2 × 4 which were doubled to about 8 × 8 feet 4 on which the upper plywood was set. These legs were then connected and reinforced by the interior trim with other 2 × 4 that go around the perimeter. The unfinished end of the bed that was added beyond the dresser and the desk that was made to detach from the end was done on the finished shelving board that matches the finish of Malm draw almost perfectly!

The shelves above the desk are EKBY TONY / EKBY Bjärnum who were actually too large for the space. So my father just measure and cut to size before attaching them to the wall. The computer was set up before attaching them to the wall to get the perfect height of the lowest shelf and the books have been set up to determine the placement of the top shelf. The office chair is folding chair NISSE, I think to put on the wall with hooks when not in use, but I think it is not necessary that I have more space than I was thinking!

Overall, the construction lasted about 6 hours and turned out pretty great if I do say so myself !! Would love to know what you all think I love this site!
