Ikea Rykene becomes fit for the Dauphin

Ikea Rykene becomes fit for the Dauphin

Materials: Rykene bedframe (Queen), MDF, foam rubber, fabric, refinishing supplies, saw, stapler, spray adhesives, tools

description I knew I wanted an upholstered headboard, but I do not want to pay a high price. I found the perfect Rykene for the project. First, sawing small brilliant points of the top rail, sand smooth edges and vertical cast metal parts and the middle horizontal support. Then sand the rest and finishing in the spot of your choice, here it is Colonial Teck.

Next, mount the MDF to the back of the headboard, the marking of internal lines for mounting the foam. Remove the MDF and spray the panels with the adhesive paste and the sponge rubber panels, then line closely by stapling the tissue around the edges, folding the corners carefully. You will find holes left on the side rails, the horizontal rails were supposed to be mounted.

Rather than fill them with small wooden plugs, available at the hardware store, I decided to slide up draws with look nautical cleats - just in case something needs to be tied up there - Ahoy! With holes filled in the manner of your choice, install upholstered panels in the frames and secure the edges with screws, then assemble the reads roughly as directed, from the obvious omissions. Much more comfortable to sit and read in bed, and fairly easy to change when my mood is.
