IKEA NIPPRIG tables lit night
in the attempt to combine multiple functions into a single object, as much as possible for a small holiday apartment in the fishing village (not where the photos were taken), I went out with this idea of bedside tables who are also comfortable lamps projecting light all around them.
They come in two versions, a female , with the top rack in a vertical position, acting as a nest for any kind of small object, and male a with the upper basket upside down, providing a flat surface to hold, for example, a book or glasses.
Each light table has a total height of 45cm. . As a side effect, it is also possible to combine the two tables and get a single floor lamp 0cm
The starting material for each table was:
- 3 NIPPRIG 2015 woven baskets of various colors hand 30x15cm each (20,97 euros in total)
- 1.5m electric wire (I used a cloth of gold already stored covered twisted wire somewhere at home), switch, plug the lamp socket and LED lamp (about 12 euros in total)
- transparent plastic wire to "sew" the different baskets together
- small wooden bottle holder from inside a wooden box bottle
Build table is extremely easy, mainly composed of connector plug, switch and lamp holder through the wire, which easily finds its way through the basket holes and sew together two of the three baskets while leaving the third only linked along a few centimeters to allow opening for lamp replacement. The bottle holder is used, stuck to the backplane in the "male" version, to allow the rest of light obliquely inside the basket. Inside the "female" version, the lamp is in the pendant up the top of the average basket.
