Malm headboard gets makeover
a rapid change of a headboard made a big difference. here's what matthew did to his Malm headboard.
"i bought the ikea malm bed it a few years ago and after a month or so tired of ... well, his boringness. I try to find a way to add some excitement and tie all the colors of my room. bedspread was black, the bed was the oak and the walls were a not white paint.
using a piece of plywood, a 2 "x3" and some fine craft foam sheets i created a gradient effect on the headboard, bed ranging from black to white walls. (There are many more black on the bottom but pillows and mattress cover eventually.) I laid over the original headboard to break the lines of the foam bed was great because it provided a cushion in case of use of the headboard as a folder.
Unfortunately, I was fired from my job and had to move back home. i sold all my furniture, including the bed so this hack is now floating around Philadelphia somewhere. "
