description: so what do you do if you have a huge Stolmen Shelve but do not like it more and also want to have an "easy-entry" bed? Hack em ..
I just moved into a smaller apartment and did not like my Stolmen more. It would sell an idea, but I found a better one.
I planned to make a bed
I had a great Stolmen Cabinet Office and two small Stolmen well as Stolmen shelves.
I bought another 110cm Stolmen Cabinet, and metal supports, tooks some shelves in the wood shop and cut into 10cm strips. I also get wood struts with 38cm.
I placed both a small ( 55cm) and large (110cm) Stolmen Cabinet on each side. Three spacers were used to connect the cabinets to each other and a 38 × 55 Stolmen Shelf was used to cover the spacers in place. On the front and back of the new bed i bolted shelf 50 × 55 on the furniture.
As the shelves are 55cm in height, but the cabinets are 45cm, 10cm it makes a perfect frame to hold the slatted frame and mattress up.
To adjust the height around the bed, I cut two shelves in a wood shop for four 10cm pieces to create an equal height frame around the bed
Everything was set with a lot of hooks and metal screws.
Last but not least, I used three 50 × 110 shelves and a board of 140cm to create a header card. The three shelves were put next to each other and screwed to the cabinet using the board to been able to secure the shelves outside their frame area.
SIDE NOTE: Shelves Stolmen have about 3cm wood frame, the rest is cardboard!
The head of card is used to adjust the correct width of the bead on one side to fit the slatted base, on the other side, I simply use another left on the board.
The beauty of this construction is that I could easily expand the bed of her current 140cm to 0cm, 180cm or 0cm whenever I just want to expand the council of the head and board foot while adding a new rest environment for two slatted bases instead of the same one I currently. And this could be done for example by using a € 5 Lack of table I also stock
