An IKEA washstand (vanity makeup) affordable
I was planning to surprise my girlfriend for a long time with a personal dressing table and I did eventually. This makeup vanity meets all the requirements, in my opinion, this kind of furniture should have:
• The storage space (as much as possible
• Mirror
• Illumination
• not very expensive
• Handy (no need to keep taking anything)
• Movable (that's not a must, but it is good to have)
Following this idea, and using the IKEA Web page much, I came up with an initial design.
But I realized that the space the sides of the mirror was very "empty", so I changed in that regard.
Then, after buying all the items for the hack (at that time I noticed that the table bar already had holes in 4 legs, so I changed that to the original design), I began to assemble This is a work in 3 steps.
• Structure
• mirror and drawers
• Shelves
so, first things first, the standing (mobile) permanent structure:
I drilled 6 holes in each vertex of the unit drawer. They are metal, so be patient and use a suitable drill. This part must be built in reverse; I started screwing the tops drilled at the table bar (it is very important that the use washers here) and adjustable feet.
When ups and legs are screwed to the table's time to assemble the rest of the casters drawer. It is quite simple, just remember that the tops are down and vice versa.
After that, the standing structure is ready to put down so he could support his weight himself. Then adjust the legs up to the wheels (board, use a spirit level) and set up the drawers smoothly. As you can imagine this is a simple table with drawers that could be used for a multitude of purposes.
But this is a hairdresser and he needs a lot of space, so adding additional drawers. Before assemble the bathroom cabinet, we will put a shelf with drawers screwed up the table. First step would break into the bottom of the tray with the table and screw them together.
the rest of the tray assembly, it is just a matter of following the instructions.
As you can see from the photo, the plate is 1 cm below the table. I have no solution for it, I just let 0,5cms difference on each side.
The next step mirror. In this case, there is no problem if you want to mount the first cabinet and drill it out and screw on the plate.
And we got to the tricky part, side shelves. In this step, the level of the mind is absolutely mandatory. The first thing is to screw the little legs each shelf. Then screwed the holders (you can use 1 tablet per carrier, but I found it easier to level with 2 hooks) to the cabinet and on the plateau. First, you do the lower ones, and those on top.
Finally, we just need to turn it on. IMHO, a strip of double-sided tape LED is the most elegant solution. I bought in IKEA but if you want "Cool White" light you will need to look elsewhere.
