Malm headboard – heightened and upholstered

Malm bed head - reinforced and padded

Materials: Queensize Malm bedframe

description:
I went to Ikea and picked up an additional Malm queensized footboard of the unchanged section for $ 25, then screwed onto the top of the existing headboard with some hooks. It was the perfect thing for the extension because it is exactly the same width and depth, and gives an extra foot or more in height to make the low profile much more substantial bed.

Then we wrapped it all batting (the stick is already in a double layer thats what we used) from the fabric store to $ 20, and stapled in place.

I bought a set of twin size sheets that came with a fitted sheet, flat sheet and pillowcase for $ 30 and the first stapled on the fitted sheet, trimmed the excess batting and a sheet material, and then stapled on the flat sheet.

Because we did not use foam or any material that was too thick, it was easy to feel through the material where all the equipment holes were and poke a screwdriver carefully through the fabric to get the pegs in place and feed the screws through the back. Then we just put everything back together!

The bonus was the pillowcase that came with the sheet set that we used to cover a small pillow perfectly match the head and tie the look together. It turned out even better than we thought it would, and $ 65 in materials that we are really satisfied with the impact of the makeover!
