A Twin Size Headboard for Less than $10

A twin size bed for less than $ 10

Materials: Vika Amon (Article No. 500.711.70)

description: I was looking to buy a simple headboard for double bed for use with a standard metal frame. However, it was difficult to find one without having to buy a whole bed and walk. I wanted to avoid the running especially as the room I was working was very small and do ???? t want to spend much.

The table Vika Amon measures 39 3/8 "by 23 5/8 ?? ??" ???? by 1 3/8 "thick ????. The 39 3/8" ???? table is almost exactly the width of a double bed, so I turned the table on the side and used as a headboard I used the Vika Amon white (article No. 500.711.70) which lists for only $ 5.99. It is also available in the same size in the Black finish / Black for $ 10.99 Article No. 002.098.39.

I bought the nuts, washers and bolts to Lowes for less than $ 3.00. It worked great and with less than $ 10.00 cost for all this material.

The headboard is not very high (about 6 "??? - 8" above the ???? surface of the mattress, but it is enough to keep the pillows from sliding down it also provides a good place to mount a flexible reading lamps IKEA as the Tived LED light for flexible rod. read in bed

Materials:
- Vika Amon :. (No. 002.098.39, $ 10.99.) White (item no 500.711.70, $ 5.99) or black / brown
- four quarter by 2 "long ???? bolts hex head (screws)
- Eight 1/4" fender washers (large diameter w / small hole)
- four 1/4 "nuts (I used insert lock nuts nylon vibration resistance)
Tools:
- 1/4" drill bit and drill
- Two key, 7/16 "????

Directions:

[

Trace holes 1: You will need to drill four holes in the Vika Amon for bolts to pass through. To place them appropriately hole, I placed the Vika Amon flat on the floor and my metal bed frame on it. Placing the lower edge of the bed frame close to the lower edge of the Vika Amon, so that the lower hole is about 01/02 to 03/04 "???? away from the edge. I traced openings in the metal bed on the Vika Amon with a Sharpie so I would be sure that drilling in the right places

2. drill. Remove the bedframe, put the Vika Amon on a work surface and drill four 1/4 "holes in the appropriate places. I drilled close enough to the edge to make the most of the internal frame near the edges of the otherwise hollow table.

3. Bolt: Turn the bolts to the back of the Vika Amon (wall side) using a large washer wing diameter to distribute the load across the relatively thin surface material of the Vika Amon . Insert the bolts on the side of the wall also prevents the projecting bolts and perhaps damage the wall surface. Slide bolts through the openings in the metal bed frame and again using a large diameter washer wing, put on the nuts and tighten them. Be careful not to over tighten and crush the surface. This is another advantage of using nuts nylon insert.
