Hacked Expedit headboard storage

I used:

Two IKEA Expedit shelving 5 x 1 black brown
Four IKEA Expedit draw glossy gray units
2 bits of MDF - a tablet for the top and one for the actual headboard
4 meters of fabric
51 self-coverage buttons
strong thread
we saw
an electric drill
Staple gun millions and staples
Four hinges

we first sawn down 5 x 1 shelves to transform them into 3 x 1 units greater height for the room.

Then we packed the tops of the two devices and joins the MDF shelf (covered in fabric) using hinges at the back so that we can still reach into the space between units shelves, once everything is assembled.

Finally, I used this tutorial to create a diamond tufted headboard and screwed it to the front of the structure to complete the head.
