Mandal Hack Nightstand
Materials :. Expedit shelving unit, saw
Description: If you have already purchased the IKEA Mandal bed with storage drawers really cool, you know that they offer only the head Combi wall Mandal bed with adjustable shelves as a nightstand possible. I prefer a bedside table where I can discreetly hide things away.
Step 1) Get the single (1 × 5) Expedit shelving unit and cut it in half. The cut will be ugly and the interior of Expedit's cardboard, but it will not be visible in the final result. If it really bothers you, you can buy the tape wood veneer in a hardware store to cover the bottom section.
Step 2) Fit each half of your Expedit shelves on either side of the wall next to your bed Mandal. Make sure to use appropriate wall mount brackets are screwed into wall studs or anchor the use of drywall. In this case, I also used the Expedit drawers and anchored to the wall as well.
You can use any accessories IKEA Expedit sells to give your bedside storage options you need.
