How I created a headboard for under $ 25

how I created a headboard for under $ 25

Materials: glass door 1 LINNARP, 3 yards of durable fabric (approximate), 1 old queen sheet size, 2 bags poly-wire stick, 3 buttons of your choice, 1 staple, January 4-2 / 2 / "; L brackets, needle and thread (for buttons), adhesive tape, protective Eyewear, Mallet / hammer

Description:. After years of hating my bed, but too cheap to spend money on a new bed I decided to create my own headboard to add a little flair to boring my bed I finally found a set of 2 doors LINNARP glass Ikea on clearance for $ 14 that sparked my imagination.

Now for Hack:

1. first, you will need to take the glass of the glass door of LINNARP. Please be careful, put masking tape on the glass panels ensuring that the panels are well covered.

2. Grab your mallet and tap the glass so that it breaks. Note: you can put a drop down menu of cloth on your floor. I ended up placing a large box underneath to catch any broken glass.

3. Once the glass is completely removed, be sure to clean up any excess glass out of the frame. I used a flathead screwdriver to get into frame crevices.

4. Measure 6 large squares of fabric based on 3 frame windows: 3 front, 3 for support.

5. Measure the center of each front cloth and sew on your buttons to a "fake" tufted look.

6. Take your staple gun and stapled 3 fabric panels to the chassis ensuring to leave enough space in the fabric to stick.

7. Staple 3 of the 4 sides of the 3 rear panels under each window, being sure to create a "pocket" for the staff to enter.

8. Fill each panel with the stick, be sure not to over it, otherwise you will need larger consoles "L" for mounting the head.

9. Complete staple the last side of the fabric to the frame to close the pocket you left.

10. Install the head above your bed using "L" brackets from the hardware store. And you're done!

Total spent: $ 24
